Teen Witch (1989)

Louise (Robyn MIller) and Polly (Amanda Ingber) are the geeky girls in school. Bonus points are awarded for the casting of Dick Sargent as Louise’s Dad by the way, anyway one day Louise has an accident or her bike and needing help and a telephone, knocks of the door of a strange house.

The house belongs to Madame Serena (Zelda Rubinstein) who decides to read Louise’s palm, Serena is stunned when she learns that Louise is a reincarnated witch and an old friend from one of her previous lives. A week later, on Louise’s 16th birthday, her magical powers return through a powerful amulet that was lost in a former life, an item that Madame Serena says searches for its owner.

Now with magical spell casting powers, Louise sets out to make all her dreams come true, unfortunately she starts to forget about Polly instead casting a spell to win over “hottest guy in school” Brad (Dan Gauthier), gains revenge on her English teacher, Mr. Weaver (Shelley Berman) and a whole bunch of other people who were horrible to her – all whilst singing along to 80’s rap/pop songs that explain to us how she feels and what is going on with the plot.

Is magic all it is cracked up to be though?
