It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that actor Steven Hill (The Greatest Show on Earth, Law & Order, Mission: Impossible) has passed away at the age of 94 years old.
Hill gained fame as the undercover team leader Daniel Briggs in the first series of Mission: Impossible in 1966 and went on to a long history in film an TV including Columbo, The Fugitive, The Untouchables, Route 66, and Thirtysomething before appearing as District Attorney Adam Schiff on Law & Order for 10 years.
Law & Order producer Dick Wolf described Hill as “one of the truly great actors of his generation and one of the most intelligent people I have ever met…he is also the only actor I’ve known who consistently tried to cut his own lines.”
He died on Tuesday at Mount Sinai hospital in New York, his wife Rachel told the Associated Press news agency.
