Branscombe Richmond

Character actor, singer and stuntman Branscombe Richmond was born in Los Angeles, California on August 8th 1955. He is the son of actor and stuntman Leo C. Richmond (Daughter of the Jungle, Around the World in 80 Days, Adventures in Paradise) and soon followed in his father’s footsteps.

Branscombe first popped up on the Cult Faction radar after he made a couple of appearances in The Six-Million Dollar Man in the late 1970’s. Then appearances in The Bionic Woman, Kentucky Fried Movie, Death Moon, Kill The Golden Goose, The Rockford Files, Hart to Hart, Charlie’s Angels, Tales of the Golden Monkey, Automan and Killpoint soon followed and people began to take notice of what the man could add to a tv show.

In 1984, Branscombe appeared as a policeman named Harker in the pilot and all 10 episodes of Hawaiian Heat.

He also appeared in a minor role as Moki in the pilot episode of Magnum, P.I., and played various characters in later episodes. He also gave various turns in shows like Walker, Texas Ranger, The A-Team, The Highwayman, Matt Houston, Cover Up, Misfits of Science, Knight Rider, Crazy Like A Fox, T.J. Hooker, Beauty and the Beast, Sledge Hammer, Hunter, and Macgyver.

In 1986 he appeared as another cop, Sergeant Luke Halui, in all 13 episodes of Heart of the City but his biggest (and coolest) role came in the 1990’s in the show Renegade as Bobby Sixkiller. A show which ran from 1992-1997.

As well as TV, Branscombe has made numerous appearences on the big screen including Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Action Jackson, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Aces: Iron Eagle III, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Christopher Columbus: The Discovery, The Scorpion King, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Just Go With It, Batman Returns, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Joe Versus The Volcano, Hard To Kill, License To Kill, and Commando.

Outside of acting, Branscombe is the national spokesman for Indian Motorcycles, and when he tours with his band The Renegade Posse, he always has an Indian motorcycle with him. In his capacity as spokesman, he appears at motorcycling’s Big Five: the Laughlin (NV) River Run; Sturgis (SD); Daytona Bike Week (FL); Laconia (NH) and Hollister (CA). He was inducted to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2003. Grindcore band Anal Cunt paid tribute to him in a track called “Branscombe Richmond” on their album I Like It When You Die.
