Preview: Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return #1 (of 6)

BOOM! Studios launches a new Bill & Ted comic book series in March 2015. The six-issue mini-series is called Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return, and it is set after the events of both films, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

In the new mini-series, Bill & Ted must fulfil their destiny as the inspiration of galactic harmony, so they start by using their time machine to travel to the 27th century to turn a young Chuck De Nomolos into a fan of Wyld Stallyns. Writing the series will be Brian Lynch, who’s written comics like Angel: After the Fall and Spike, as well as screenplays such as Puss in Boots and Hop animated films. Lynch will also be writing next year’s Minions movie. Joining him will be artist Jerry Gaylord (Fanboys Vs. Zombies).

Each issue will contain a short back-up story worked on by a different set of creators. In issue #1, the back-up story will be from writer Ryan North (Adventure Time) and artist Ian McGinty (Bravest Warriors). Their story can be described as “the Evil Bill and Ted play a trick on the Good Robotusses that only Bill and Ted can solve…with the power of time travel!”
